If you don't want to use the ShowDesktoipIcons.bat script, you can use the following command-line to directly access the appropriate GUI in Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista:

rundll32.exe Shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,@Web
